The official product image and the listing as recorded on August 24, 2026 show one whisk with one scoop, not two whisks. This is the tier for a household that already has a wide bowl and wants the bamboo tools, and it is also the tier you come back to later because bamboo prongs are the part that wears out.
2. $14.99, the starter set
Two dollars more than the bamboo pair. Amazon presents it as a separate style, but from the listing’s own description the difference is thin. If your reason for buying is a bowl or a sifter, this tier does not solve it, and $2.00 is not a decision.
3. $34.99, the complete set
The tier that changes the shape of what arrives: a stoneware bowl, a sifter, a ceramic whisk holder, plus the bamboo. Jade Leaf’s colour option on this style is white. This is the only tier where the box is self-sufficient, and it is why the $22.00 gap from the bottom tier is easier to justify than the $2.00 gap in the middle.

Read against a rival, the $34.99 is not the cheapest complete box on Amazon. The TANG PIN set was $29.99 the same day with a larger bowl. What Jade Leaf has that TANG PIN does not is 11,240 ratings behind it and a sifter in the box.
What happens after you order
Two practical things, both from Jade Leaf’s own care instructions on the listing.
The bamboo whisk is a consumable, not a fixture. Jade Leaf says a chasen lasts three to six months with daily use. That converts the $12.99 tier from a one-off purchase into a recurring one, which is a different arithmetic than the sticker suggests, and we take it apart separately in our note on the whisk and scoop set.
The bamboo will not go in a dishwasher. Jade Leaf’s instruction is warm water, no soap, and storage on the holder to keep the prongs splayed. The holder only ships with the $34.99 tier, so buyers of the cheaper tiers are being asked to store the whisk correctly using a part they were not sent.
Who it’s best for
Choose the Complete Ceremonial Set if you are starting with no wide bowl and want the sifter and whisk holder in the same box. Choose the Bamboo Whisk and Scoop Set if you already have a wide, flat bowl and want the bamboo tools; the $14.99 middle tier adds neither a bowl nor a sifter. All three tiers are for bowl-whisked matcha, and matcha powder is ordered separately because none is included.
Three things the listing hides, and one honest alternative
Read the listing closely and three numbers are missing, each one worth knowing before you spend.
Jade Leaf does not publish the prong count on its chasen, so you cannot compare that specification directly with the stated 80- and 100-prong whisks in the other listings. The listing states a bowl is included but never its diameter, so it does not give the most useful measurement for judging whisking room. And the 11,240 ratings are pooled across all three tiers, so the review count shown beside the $34.99 box is not a rating count for that tier alone.
The honest alternative sits above all of this. This is a Western matcha brand’s accessory kit, competent and cheap. The authentic whisk is a Takayama chasen from Nara, where a five-century craft, kept by a small number of remaining masters, makes most of Japan’s whisks. If the ritual is the point, buy the Takayama and a plain wide bowl; if you want a working kit on the counter tomorrow, this box does that for the price.
Bottom line
The listing offers three prices and only two real answers. Bowl or no bowl. At $34.99 as of August 24, 2026 you get the complete kit with a sifter and a holder; at $12.99 you get the bamboo alone and will replace it within six months by the seller’s own estimate.
