  • Enoshima: choose shrine steps, sea, caves, seafood, and sunset.
  • Hakone: choose mountain transport, Lake Ashi, art, or an onsen night.
  • Yokohama: choose Chinatown, harbor walking, family attractions, and a skyline after dark.

Kanagawa is not one day trip. It is four different reasons to leave Tokyo. Choose the memory first, then open the route that makes it easiest. Kamakura and Enoshima can share the same railway, but each is better when allowed to become the day. Hakone needs a transport strategy. Yokohama rewards a clean walk from history toward the night skyline.

Which one should you choose?

Only one extra day

Choose Kamakura for traditional Japan without Hakone's transport complexity. Choose Yokohama when food, family attractions, and an easy urban waterfront suit the group better.

Good weather and a slow pace

Choose Enoshima when the sea and sunset are the point. Choose Hakone when the mountain loop or a ryokan night is worth the longer commitment.

Tempted to combine places

Kamakura plus Enoshima is possible, but it trades depth for coverage. Protect one full place unless a booked tour and its fixed pace are exactly what you want.

Rain changes the choice

Yokohama has the easiest indoor branch. Hakone can become an art-and-onsen day. Kamakura keeps its temples; Enoshima loses more when caves, coast, and views are removed.

Start from Tokyo without turning transit into the trip

Kamakura and Yokohama are the easiest compact additions to a Tokyo stay. Enoshima needs more walking and should keep its sunset margin. Hakone is the strongest overnight candidate. Open the chosen guide before reserving a tour: each page shows the independent route first, then the booking only when it solves a real problem.
